Divizend has successfully completed the EDI Datathon, the final event of the first EXPLORE phase. It consisted of a technical and a business pitch. We thus became one of the best 18 of 36 startups that are allowed to enter the EXPERIMENT phase.
The European Data Incubator (EDI) is an incubation program run by 20 partners across Europe. It offers innovative big data startups the opportunity to tackle real business challenges across Europe. On the one hand, there is the option of solving tasks from industrial partners, e.g. to improve road safety in Barcelona or to predict fraudulent transactions in supermarkets. On the other hand, startups were able to bring their own challenges, which is why we as Divizend chose the business case of withholding tax refunds.
We are now in the second-to-last phase of the European Data Incubator. In this phase we concentrate on further refining our business plan, as well as on our MVP and our technical infrastructure. As part of this, we will take part in workshops and receive mentoring from recognized industry experts. Another important point in the EXPERIMENT phase is the topic of "Big Data", for which we will also receive special training, e.g. relating to cloud infrastructure, IT security or IT law, from which we will certainly benefit.
